Measure K-14 Street Rehabilitation Program

YOUR TAX DOLLAR$ AT WORK

On November 4, 2014 Grover Beach voters approved Measure K-14, the Grover Beach Street Rehabilitation; Safety Improvement Bond Measure. In approving the measure, the City was authorized to issue up to $48 million in bond funds for the repair of local streets over the next 25 years. To date the City Council has approved the issuance of three bonds totaling $28 million in funds.

Completed Projects
As outlined in the Completed K-14 Street Bond Project Map (PDF), the City has expended a total of $20 million in bond funds for maintenance and repair of 200 blocks, representing 47% of all local streets.

The City Council adopted the 2021-2025 Capital Improvement Program which identifies next round of street rehabilitation projects as outlined below:

Project design services was awarded by City Council to Rick Engineering on 10/5/2020

Construction contract was awarded by City Council to JJ Fisher Construction on 4/12/2021

Weekly Construction Update:  

  • Week of 6/21/2021:  The contractor will begin to form and pour the curb ramps on South 10th Street.  Water services will be relocated along North 10thStreet and utilities will be lowered, in order to prepare for pavement removal within the next few weeks. 
  • Week of 6/28/2021: The existing curb ramps on South 11th Street will be demolished this week.  The forming and pouring of the new ramps will occur late the week or early next week.

Weekly Construction Update:

  • Week of 6/21/2021: To meet the City’s specifications, the contractor will be replacing a portion of the pavement on North 8thStreet, from Brighton Avenue to Newport Avenue.

    Week of 6/28/2021: Pavement markers and striping will be completed on North 8th Street, North 14th Street, and South 14th Street, from Mentone Avenue to Farroll Road.

  • Week of 6/21/2021: The contractor completed the micro-seal last week.  Pavement markers and striping work will begin this week.  No parking signs will be posted 72 hours in advance as needed.

    Week of 6/28/2021: Pavement markers and striping will continue and with completion scheduled by Friday, July 2nd
