Council Member Clint Weirick
It is my honor and privilege to be serving you on your Grover Beach City Council. I was born and raised in Grover Beach, having spent the vast majority of my life here, and live here now in District 4. I went through our local public schools including Grover Heights Elementary School. I have raised children in Grover Beach, have had a blast at our city government’s events such as our well-known Summer Concerts series, enjoyed recreation at our city parks, shopped our stores, and feasted at our restaurants. Throughout all of these years the best part is getting to know my fellow residents and learning about what they love most about our city too.
I bring years of extensive community involvement in many civic, educational, business, and nonprofit organizations with some I'll note here. Completed the inaugural Leadership South County Class 1. I served on the County Mental Health Board, County Drug and Alcohol Advisory Board, County Tobacco Control Coalition, and worked in the field of recovery to improve lives for those living with a mental health challenge or addiction. Have been in many leadership roles of local service clubs such as Rotary, Lions, Kiwanis, Optimist, Altrusa, and Exchange to participate in community service while also raising funds to support local youth, youth serving organizations, and those organizations addressing those in need in our community. Was on the South County Chambers of Commerce’s Governmental Affairs Committee including as Co-Chair to promote business-friendly public policies. I continue to proudly be a member of multiple Grover Beach organizations such as the Grover Heights Elementary School PTA, Friends of the Grover Beach Library, Grover City Grange #746, Friends of the Five Cities Fire Authority, etc.
It is especially vital to have a place for our residents and their families to thrive so I want to hear from you so I can help guide and shape the best decisions with my fellow Council Members by being properly informed on what matters most. Together we can advance public safety, economic development, be excellent stewards of our environment, further opportunities for working families, and taking care of our most vulnerable in our community in a compassionate way.
It is my pleasure to additionally serve as part of my role as your City Council Member on the following boards and committees:
- Five Cities Fire Authority (FCFA) Board of Directors Alternate
- San Luis Obispo County Homeless Services Oversight Council (HSOC)
- South San Luis Obispo County Sanitation District (SSLOCSD) Board of Directors Alternate
- San Luis Obispo County Flood Control and Water Conservation District's Water Resources Advisory Committee (WRAC)
